Dear Family,
I am doing great. I have such a close relationship with all the members of my district. They are all such amazing people. They are a great group of guys. I love them so much...
I don't think I've read so much scripture and have prayed so much in the past two years than I have in the past week. It's like an addiction, and I've been on a gospel high all week. The MTC is such a great place. I have learned to listen to the spirit. I still have a long ways to go but I can now safely say that I have a testimony of Christ and his restored Gospel.
Here in the MTC we teach TRC's which are kind of like mock investigators. My and Elder Numbers's TRC is named Ben. Today was our second lesson with him. He is such a great guy. We taught him about the Restoration. The lesson went well and the spirit was there and as we taught the lesson, it just didn't seem like he was feeling the spirit. So tomorrow when we teach him we will probably share the importance of the spirit. I look forward to working further with him.
Another TRC we were able to teach, her name is Meghan, we were able to commit her to baptism!!! ...I was the one who extended the challenge to her. And it felt AMAZING! She has come such a long way in such a short time!
Tonight we had our General Authority Devotional and all I have to say is WOW, these men are truly inspired of God. We were able to hear from Elder C....(can't read his writing). He shared that it is vital that we fellowship converts. (Nathan then shares some personal thoughts about friends.) ...He shared there are three things converts need to stay active in the gospel. He said that we should give them a calling or responsibility in the church. This is important because it makes them feel like they're needed. The second is they should speak in church, and the third, they need to read the Book of Mormon. He says too many converts are falling away because of these things. And we need to change this!!! Jeran, Megan, Joie, and Gabby, be a friend!!! (Nathan again shares some personal thoughts about friends, and encouraged his siblings that even if it was uncomfortable to invite them to church, to seminary, and to read the Book of Mormon.). ...Share your testimony of it. I can testify the spirit is so strong when we step out of our comfort zones to bear our testimony.
Anyways, GTG. It's lights out. Good night. Love you all. Tell Champ hi. Tell Jenica she's rad. Jeran, make sure you're reading!! Write back!!!
Elder Jarman
