Weekly Letter

Friends and Family,

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Things are going quite well, as usual. This week was kind of slow but it ended pretty well. On Saturday morning when we were calling everyone to get our day put together, everyone's appointments fell through, all of them. And on top of that we were not able to get a hold of anyone else. So that left us with one option, tracting. So reluctantly we got on our coats and prepared to go out for a day full of tracting. For a few hours we had no success at all. As were were approaching this house we saw a lady outside, but as soon as she saw us she ran inside. But being the good missionaries that we are, we knocked on the door anyway. After a while the lady finally came to the door and asked us who we were. After telling her who we were and why we were there she graciously let us in. We were than able to talk with her for a little while. We found out that she has cancer and that she also has a strong and sincere desire to develop stronger faith in the Lord so he can help her get through her trials. After answering some of her questions we were finally able to introduce the Book of Mormon to her. She said she was so excited to start reading it! After talking for a bit longer SHE said that she wanted to get baptized, we didn't even have to bring it up! She even asked us if she could get baptized that next day! After telling her that she would have to wait a while we put her on date for baptism on January 4th! Now if this encounter wasn't a miracle I don't know what is. The Lord knew that we were supposed to go tracting that day. And I'm sure he knew that we would run into her.

I am so happy because of the Christmas season! It truly is a wonderful time to spend with friends and family. Most importantly it is a time to remember Christ and his birth. If you think about it his birth started everything he ever did in his life. And he did it all for us. So that truly does make him the true gift this Christmas season.

I love you all! And I hope you all have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

-Elder Jarman

PS. Thank you all for the gifts and cards! I haven't opened them yet. Waiting till Christmas!
