Friends and Family,
Sorry this weeks letter will have to be a short one.
This week has been nothing shy of fantastic! We started off our week kind of slow with a ton of appointments falling through. It was rainy and cold and absolutely miserable. On Friday we hadn't taught a single lesson, for a missionary this is not a good thing. So we prayed for opportunities to teach. And by the end of the week we had surpassed our goal for lessons taught that week and we were able to get three new investigators. So prayer is a real thing. (in case you didn't know).
Prayer is a blessing That we so often take for granted. So many times I find my prayers to be repetitive, especially when you are praying almost fifteen times a day. I think the "trick to prayer" isn't in the wording or in the tone of voice we use. But in the sincerity of our hearts. And in the humility of our soul. Normally when we pray we pray for something we want. Well I can easily sit here and say that I want a brand new car and not do anything for it. But if I desire a new car chances are that I will do something to obtain what I desire. So in my vocabulary and especially in prayer I have been trying to cut out the word want and use the word desire in it's place. I would challenge you all to try that out. It might seem silly but It works!
I love you all and thank you so much for everything that you all have done for me and my family, it means more than you could ever know.
Have a blessed day!
- Elder Jarman
