On Wednesday, when it was his preparation day, I was online when he was emailing and we got to email back and forth. I learned that neither he or his companion were transferred. Because they had both been new to the area, they kept them there. Also that day, I was at work responding to his emails. My new office building is just west of where Nathan used to work at GT Automotive. I went outside and took pictures of the back of the garage of GT Automotive and sent them to Nathan. He said he doesn't miss the view. : ) Then on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 his weekly letter:
Friends and family,
This week was a good week. I think I'm starting to get the hang of it all. But you know how it goes, as soon as you start to get the hang of things something new comes up. But I guess that's life.
This week we had a ton of dropped appointments and a ton of plans that fell through. Which was alright because it gave us a lot of time to walk around and talk to people. This past Sunday we were told by the Branch president to focus on visiting less active members, so we were able to some of that as well.
I can't even begin to describe the beauty here during the fall time. Its some thing you would see on a post card. It is a true witness to me that God did create this earth and he made it beautiful. And we get to see that beauty every day.
The toughest part of the week was probably yesterday when we had to drop four different investigators. Either because they weren't keeping commitments or because they were dropping appointments, which is stressful. But the important part is that we gave them every opportunity to grow and learn, which is what we're here to do.
Other than that I am learning more and more each day. For example, yesterday I almost learned the hard way that you should refrain from picking up poisonous snakes in the road. And that When driving for the first time in almost eight weeks. It's always best to remember to drive on the right side of the road.
I hope every thing is going well! I love and miss you all!
